sabrina selensky is a post-conceptual artist and choreographer based in berlin.
On the other side of the shore is a performance set on a former cargo ship located at the NDSM pier in Amsterdam Noord,
in a state of construction, poised to become a restaurant.
The work explores the liminal space between land and water, where the ship, suspended between past and future, becomes a vessel for memory and transformation. Five female figures activate the ship and its surroundings, using the space as both a playground for investigation and an instrument to amplify their story.
Water, as both a literal and symbolic presence, evokes themes of fluidity, passage, and the unknown, wich are central to the work.
