I Like the Idea of Shutting Up, It’s Just Not for Me
explores the female voice as a tool of expression and liberation, transforming a multi-voiced soundpiece into a moving body.
We see this body trying to fit into forms - , static, shaking, bending, stretching, in search of - collapsing then
stumbling and falling, searching for support, trying again.
The performers facial expressions and the words and tones in the soundpiece don’t always align, prompting us to question whether we hear what we want to hear or what is actually being said - when we try not only to listen, but rather to understand.
